I Help Individuals experiencing persistent Anxiety, Overwhelm and Restlessness move gently into a space of Inner Peace, Calm and Purpose.
Working from a variety of psychological theories including Mindfulness Based Therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Spiritual Mind-Body Based therapy and Body Somatic Therapy; we will explore thought patterns, anxiety triggers and the present day influences of your own inner child.
Most often what prompts individuals into therapy is having overwhelming feelings, unnamed anxieties, undefined restlessness, and/or a confusing sense of discomfort with their life, work or relationships. Something doesn’t feel quite right, but you don’t really understand what it is.
Sheila will guide you on a journey of discovering your own capacity for healing, transformation, letting go and finding hope.

About Sheila
Sheila Bristow is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) who helps individuals, couples, and families reduce anxiety, heal emotional patterns, and reconnect with a grounded sense of inner calm. In her Collingwood-based private practice, she specializes in anxiety, stress, trauma, the impact of early childhood experiences, and the mind–body connection.
After 15 years in the corporate financial world, Sheila made a life-changing shift into Holistic Psychotherapy. This transition shaped her unique approach: a blend of evidence-based therapy, mindfulness meditation, somatic awareness, and stress-management techniques. Her work reflects a core belief—when we learn to listen to the body’s signals, we access the truth and wisdom needed for deep, lasting healing.
Because chronic stress has become one of society’s leading contributors to illness and emotional imbalance, Sheila integrates Mindfulness Meditation, breathwork, somatic practices, and nervous-system regulation into her therapeutic work. These tools empower clients to calm internal overwhelm, shift unhelpful belief systems, and build the emotional resilience needed to navigate life with clarity and confidence.
With more than two decades of personal meditation experience, Sheila has completed Meditation Instructor Training under the renowned master Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo of Thailand through the Willpower Institute and has furthered her practice through immersive experiences such as a 10-day silent meditation retreat.
Since beginning her psychotherapy career in 2003, Sheila had co-founded a holistic wellness clinic in Thornhill, maintained a thriving private practice, and served for many years as a faculty member at Toronto’s Transformational Arts College—mentoring graduating Psychotherapists and Holistic Practitioners as they built their own meaningful practices.
Today, Sheila focuses on helping clients create positive, sustainable change by understanding emotional patterns, healing past wounds, and reducing the mental and physical impacts of stress and anxiety. She brings compassion, presence, and a grounded spiritual awareness to every session.
Born and raised in Collingwood, Sheila now resides in her hometown and serves clients locally in-person and within the province of Ontario through online/video sessions.
You cannot outperform your self-imagine or beliefs about who you think you are.
