Sheila Bristow, a Barrie, Ontario native; paints en plein aire, as well as in her studio. She has studied art extensively in Texas, also in Barrie at Georgian College, MacLaren Art Gallery and many other seminars offered by the Barrie Art Club. She is also a member of the BaySide Artists Group.
Sheila paints in most media, enjoying diverse subject, she particularly enjoys weekly portraiture gatherings using graphite.
She is past-president of the Kempenfest Committee 2010 and was Treasurer of the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts 2010. She is an active member of the Barrie Art Club and was their liaison to the aforementioned groups for 2009 and 2010.
Sheila joined the Hidalgo Watercolor Society in Pharr, Texas, and has learned many watercolor techniques, most notably from Karen McCauley, Studio in San Antonio and Billylyn Clark from Weslaco, Texas.
Her art has been shown in the John B. Aird Gallery, Toronto; Thornton Gallery, Thornton, The Gallery on Queen, Cookstown; The Barrie Art Club, Artistic Frameworks and Gary Owens Gallery in Barrie.
Her work is collected in Ontario, Texas, Germany and the Mid-East and she is presently represented by the Gary Owen Gallery in Barrie.
